September 8-16, 2009 Galerija Modulor Community Cultural Center Trešnjevka Park Stara Trešnjevka 1, Zagreb The Red Trešnjevka project by authors Kristina Leko and David Smithson is dealing with the theme of small single story family houses built mostly in the 1920ies in the Zagreb neighborhood of Trešnjevka. The project area is bordered by four major thoroughfares: Ozaljka Street, Nehajska Street, Ljubljanska Avenue, and Selska Street. The exhibition in the Modulor Gallery shows the results of a photographic and documentaristic research: photographic notes about a dozen old single story houses, photographic portraits of several home owners and tenants, as well as several short stories telling the history of these modest homes. The Red Trešnevka project is a community art project which will continue with the launch of a documentary web site created in collaboration with the community. Visit us again sometime in November of this year. The project has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and the Cultural Office of the City of Zagreb.
